Here at Creekside Acres, we love our Nigerian Dwarf, American Saanen and Alpine and Mini-Pine dairy goats!
In our journey towards a more healthy and natural lifestyle, we have discovered the many benefits of goat milk both for drinking and for making cheese and soap.
Our goats are wonderfully suited for breeding stock, milk production, companion animals, clearing brush or simply as pets.
From birth, all of our babies are given lots of individual attention and are very tame - they are simply charming and full of personality.
Our kids are disbudded and dewormed. We do not routinely vaccinate for CD&T but will do so at your request. They are weaned and ready for placement in their new homes at 8 weeks of age.

NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS
We started our Nigerian herd with some of the best milking genetics available from Sharon McCarty’s Caesar’s Villa breeding stock here in North Carolina.
Our Nigerians are small and easy to handle, provide a surprising amount of milk for their size, require little feed and smaller housing, are terrific weed eaters/browsers and come in a variety of colors and patterns.
They are registered with the American Goat Society.

ALPINE GOATS
We have truly enjoyed having Alpines as part of our herd. In full production, each one is able to give over a gallon of milk per day. This breed is known for being exceptionally hardy, curious, and friendly. We have found them to be intelligent and easy to train. Our Alpines have excellent udders for machine or hand-milking. Our Alpines are purebred but not registered and come from excellent milking lines.

AMERICAN SAANEN GOATS
Saanens are lovely white goats and are named for the Saanen valley in Switzerland. They are the largest of the dairy breeds and are very heavy milkers. Does typically weigh from 150-200 pounds, with bucks weighing over 300 pounds.
Their temperament is calm and mild mannered. They are able to breed every year producing one to three kids. They are big boned but graceful and refined. The ears are erect, and the nose is straight or dished. Both does and bucks have beards. Some are polled (genetic absence of horns). We have found them to be outstanding as family milk goats.
All of our lovely Saanen ladies are purebred, and we offer both registered (American Dairy Goat Association) and unregistered kids.

MINI-ALPINE (ALPINE-NIGERIAN DWARF CROSS) GOATS
In 2009, we began crossing some of our Alpine does with a Nigerian buck, and the result gave us some beautiful “Mini-Alpine” does for our herd. The Mini-Pines are an excellent choice for anyone desiring the higher milk production of Alpines but preferring the smaller size of the Nigerians. These midsize goats have very nice connected udders, and long, even teats perfect for handmilking - producing 3/4 gallon per day. Their size and temperament makes them ideal for pets as well.
